Please take at look at this video of the April Opening of the Legation Museum’s exhibition,”Customs and Costumes of Sephardic Morocco .”

The exhibit, which will continue until July, truly represents a  TALIM team labor of love — our Curator Mohammed Jadidi and Associate Director Yhtimad Bouziane were in charge of the whole process of soliciting contributed items and designing and setting up the exhibit itself, which runs until July 1 in the Legation’s  Moorish Pavilion.   Outreach Coordinator Ayoub El Jamal arranged for a surprise performance  by Tangier’s Fermata Choir, who performed songs in Hebrew and Ladino, the dialect of Sephardic Moroccan Jews.  And the film itself was made by friend of the Legation Abdelbaar Mounadi  Idrissi, a doctoral candidate from Tangier’s King Fahd School of Translation.

Nearly all items in the exhibit were generously  loaned to us from the collection of Sonia Cohen Azagury, who is shown in the video  giving a preview tour of the exhibit to her daughter and granddaughter.
